Last week we traveled to St. Louis Missouri to compete with 406 other teams from around the World. We were placed in the Carson Division along with 67 other teams. There were 6 Divisions total and the winners of each went on to compete for the title.
After 2 days of qualification matches, we ended ranked 38th in our highly competitive field with a 5 win, 5 loss record. We had some great matches and some that were quite tough, including one in which our pilot (human player) was the only one in the airship, where normally there are two. View our matches HERE Our team pushed on, kept the robot in peak performance and played hard. We didn't move on into the playoffs, but were right there to cheer on the other teams that did! We were honored to with the award for Gracious Professionalism in the Carson & Tesla Divisions. This award "celebrates outstanding demonstration of FIRST Core Values such as continuous Gracious Professionalism® working together both on and off the playing field." Overall, it was amazing to be able to compete side by side with some outstanding teams, have the experience once again on that level and strengthen the bonds within our team. We've had an incredible award winning season that has been at times grueling, intense, challenging, rewarding and downright exciting! Being a part of this experience is definitely more than robots!! It's life changing. |
