2012 Off Season Project "BroncoBot"
Broncobot was a fun project created in only a matter of hours in order to bring some robot fun into the Lapeer Days parade of 2012, whose theme was "The Wild West". So in the dining room of one team member, BroncoBot came to life. It drove through the parade a week later and has been slowly improved on ever since. - Amie Barker Sophomore 2012

Rebound Rumble was the name of the game and “Tank” dominated the courts. The challenge in 2012 was to create a robot that could play an altered form of basketball. At the end of the match robots could balance on bridges to gain extra points. Our robot featured a double-sided pickup system. It was able to drive over a ball and instantly pick up it up without slowing down or changing course. Once it had the ball it was able to lock on to the reflective targets and easily score all three shots. The robot was also designed to easily cooperate with other robots during the end game balance segment. Its wide body and front “Skis” allowed the bridge to be quickly tipped and fit multiple robots on the bridge (more robots on the bridge meant more points). Our robot was designed to be an extremely reliable and robust machine. It rarely broke, and when it did it was usually a quick fix. In fact, “Tank” is still operational today, years after its completion. - Troy Willmer Junior 2012
